The Nevada Gaming Control Board is responsible for the licensing of online poker rooms within the state of Nevada. Sites are expected to begin popping up before the end of 2013.
Although the majority of applicants for licenses are American casino companies, a few noteworthy European companies, including 888, will also be taken into consideration during public hearings.
888 Poker, known for several interactive gaming features like "PokerCam" tables where players can see each other via webcams, hopes to become the first European poker company to operate under government supervision within the USA.
Currently, 888 is partnered with Caesars Interactive Entertainment to help launch their online room. It is believed that this will be a World Series of Poker-branded room.
Only time will tell whether or not 888 will expand and offer their own separate online poker room to Americans as a full operator, but in the meantime non-US based customers can still check out their impressive software by playing at 888poker.
