In anticipation of the World Series of Poker Main Event final table, Rakeback.com will profile each of the “November 9” players. The tournament resumes November 8th at 8:30 pm ET. First place pays a staggering $7,680,021. Here is a look at Patrick Chan, who currently sits in 8th chip position.
Patrick Chan is an East Coast grinder who hails from Brooklyn, New York. He started out playing poker online, then transitioned to live cash games and tournaments post “Black Friday”. Occasionally he does still travel outside the country to play on PokerStars.
The 26-year old professional poker player has done well for himself. He has live tournament earnings of $535,399, and will add a minimum of $1,001,020 to that total for his November 9 finish. He is however, still looking for that elusive 1st place finish in a major poker tournament for his resume.
Holding just under 16 big blinds, Chan will have to go to work early at the final table as he is the virtual short stack. If he can double up early, and put himself in position to hang around, he’ll have a chance to win the world’s biggest poker tournament, the 2015 WSOP Main Event.
The final table resumes November 8th at 8:30 pm ET live on ESPN. Leading up to the final table, ESPN will also be airing weekly coverage of the 2015 WSOP Main Event Championship. You can also follow Patrick Chan on Twitter @pchanpoker.
