Thomas Cannuli is a true East Coast grinder. The 23 year old from Cape May, New Jersey, is a respected cash game player on the east coast poker scene. Prior to making the November 9, Cannuli had just $52,235 in live tournament earnings.

Strictly a cash game poker pro, Cannuli has been working on his tournament game the past few years, however, he could still be considered an underdog on the tournament stage.

He min cashed last year’s WSOP Main Event for $18,406, his largest live score until now. Already guaranteed over a million dollar payday, Cannuli will have to chip up quickly as he sits with just 31 big blinds.

Cannuli has some big name poker friends in his corner as well. Jeff Gross, Brian Rast, Sorel Mizzi, and even Antonio Esfandiari just to name a few. They’ve been on his rail cheering the entire time down the stretch to the final table. Their experience and support can only help.

Cannuli had this to say about the support from friends, “It's amazing the support I have with my circle of friends. Jeff Gross, Brian Rast, Sorel Mizzi, these guys have been amazing. They've been there for me and they've stuck it out. Let me tell you something right now, my rail is going to be the biggest and loudest rail so get ready for it.”

There’s no doubt the atmosphere inside the Rio will be electric come November, the question for Cannuli is, can he pick a few good spots, chip up a bit, and give himself a legitimate chance at becoming the 2015 WSOP Main Event champion.

The final table resumes November 8th at 8:30 pm ET live on ESPN. Leading up to the final table, ESPN will also be airing weekly coverage of the 2015 WSOP Main Event Championship.

Next week we’ll meet, seventh in chips Joshua Beckley from Marlton, New Jersey, USA.
