The next Million Dollar Sunday tournament will run on December 6 and offer a $1 million guaranteed prize pool. It’s the only $1 million guaranteed online poker tournament that US citizens can play!
The tournament forms the Main Event of the Americas Cardroom Online Super Series (OSS) which is guaranteeing over $2.6 million in prize money. The OSS begins on November 27 with a total of 76 events at buy-ins starting from just $0.27.
Rakeback.com players have their very own leaderboard race for the OSS.
To take part simply sign up to ACR through Rakeback.com if you haven't done so already, then opt in here.
The winner will receive $50 with the next 20 players getting $5 each. Just another little extra from Rakeback.com to add to the regular Friday Freerolls and Twitch bounty tournaments we offer on Americas Cardroom.
Americas Cardroom tried to run five Million Dollar Sundays as part of a $5 million guaranteed promotion through October. The first three went off successfully for the players, but not enough of them turned up to make the guarantee, so the company had to add its own money to the prize pool. In total players benefited from more than an extra $750,000 in prize money.
The poker industry expected Americas Cardroom to take a break after suffering such a big hit, but CEO Phil Nagy is determined to put on as many of the events as possible. He told Rakeback.com that he wanted to put on the biggest guaranteed tournaments in the market. His philosophy is simple; the biggest games are on Americas Cardroom so this is the place to play.
The result of his determination is likely to be another overlay which will give players extra expected value from their entry.
The Million Dollar Sundays cost $540 to enter, but there are a multitude of ways to satellite in for a much lower price. The blind structure has 15 minute levels, and starting stacks are 10,000 chips. Late Registration and Unlimited re-entries are allowed for the first 20 levels (5 hours).
The payout structure favors casual poker players with over 20% of all entrants receiving a payout. Winning a Million Dollar Sunday event still provides life-changing money, with a minimum of $200,000 guaranteed to the winner.
The same format applies to the $500,000 guaranteed version of the events which cost exactly half as much to enter at $270. The next $500k event will be event #18 of the OSS and takes place this Sunday, November 29.
If you haven’t got $540 in your account, there are several cheaper ways to get a ticket. The poker client lists a variety of satellites, but two promotions are especially interesting.
Million or Bust Sit & Gos are a form of Jackpot Sit & Go where the big prize is a ticket to the Million Dollar Sunday. Jackpot Sit & Gos are three-handed hyper-turbo events which only last for a few minutes. The prize pool is determined randomly according to a statistical payout-structure.
At the $12 buy-in, five times out of every thousand games the prize pool produces the top prize, and all three players are awarded $540 tickets to the Million Dollar Sunday. Players can also play $1 buy-in Million or Bust Sit & Gos where the top prize is awarded 2 times in every 5,000 games, or $60 buy-in tournaments which pay out tickets twice in every hundred games.
Americas Cardroom introduced a new game to help promote the Million Dollar Sundays, called Spin to Get IN.
Spin to Get IN games can be found in the Million Dollar Sunday tournament lobby, and offer a slot machine game where three of a kind wins the prize. Players can choose to spin for $0.01, $0.25 or $1. In each case, the prize for a winning spin is always a ticket to the Million Dollar Sunday.
