It’s every serious poker players favorite time of year, World Series of Poker (WSOP) time. Poker players from all over the world will flock to Las Vegas looking to put their name on the map. Or like Martin Jacobson of Sweden, last year’s Main Event champion, become part of poker history.
This year’s WSOP begins on Wednesday, May 27th in Las Vegas, Nevada at the Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino. There are 68 championship bracelets up for grabs over the next six weeks during the world’s most prestigious poker tournament series.
This year’s WSOP will be a blockbuster, with increased field sizes projected. Several new events, and a wide range of buy-ins should attract more players. Event 5, The Colossus No-Limit Hold’em has a guaranteed prize pool of $5,000,000 and a buy-in of just $565. This is the perfect opportunity for a grinder to take a shot, and in the process, gain valuable WSOP experience.
WSOP Executive Director, Ty Stewart had this to say about the new schedule… “Now more than ever, the WSOP has something for everyone and with this schedule we believe the value and the opportunity for player success exists in each and every event we are offering in 2015. If you’ve ever thought about coming to Las Vegas for the WSOP, this is the year”.
As always this year’s WSOP will conclude with the $10,000 buy-in Main Event World Championship beginning July 5th. Ten grand is a chunk of change, but you can get in cheap too. Numerous live satellites are offered at the Rio and you could always qualify online.
