Joss firmly believes that life is good, and so he should; he lives in the mountains of Peru with his wife and two young children and plays online poker for a living.
He is convinced that the lower oxygen levels at 7,500 feet above sea level provide the altitude training necessary to develop his poker skills to the highest level.
In the meantime, Peru provides a phenomenal quality of life on his income from low-stakes 6 max cash.
After his 12 year career as a British Army officer, Joss had become a financial services entrepreneur by the time the poker boom took off.
He quickly found himself dicing with the regulars at $5/10 and $10/20 No Limit Hold’em on PartyPoker – unfortunately, with more enthusiasm than skill.
In 2006, he decided to take a year’s sabbatical in Peru and take the game seriously. 6 years later he’s still there and loving poker in all its forms.
He gives thanks to poker for enabling him to create a great life and to build his own home which he initially funded from a victory in the $11 rebuy on PokerStars.
He tries to repay the community for the debt he owes poker by keeping open house for any poker players who find themselves in Arequipa, the most beautiful city in Peru.
