Betfair to Join Ongame Network; Switch from Rakeback to Players Club

Upgrade to Ongame

Betfair logoOn July 27th, Betfair Poker will join the Ongame Network.  As of part of the rollover, all players logging into Betfair will join games associated with the network of rooms at Ongame.  Officials at Betfair say this will give players a wider variety of options including:

1.       More games during a wider range of hours

2.       Larger multi-table tournaments (MTTs)

3.       Additional game types

4.       More language options and

5.       The option to use both PC and Mac

One drawback of the upgrade will be that users with screen names already taken by Ongame users will need to choose new IDs after the merge.

New Betfair Players Club

Betfair Players ClubIt is important to note that Ongame is a rakeback-free network, so any players joining as of today (July 12th) will not be eligible for rakeback but will instead be automatically enrolled in the new loyalty scheme known as the Betfair Player’s Club. Existing players however, will remain on their current rakeback deal.

Real money players in the new system will accumulate points to be redeemed at the Betfair reward shop.  The highest level players will be earning up to 40% back through cash and merchandise vouchers, and new lower volume players will be able to redeem points for cash as little as $10 at a time.  However, the percentage of the lower tiers was not readily available.
