By Matt Marietta, Rakeback.com Poker News Editor

In a shocking turn of events, DoylesRoom has split with the Cake Network. After weeks of missed payments, broken download buttons, and general silence from the top brass, officials at DoylesRoom have finally confirmed in a press release on January 28th, 2011 that the room has broken ties with the Cake Network and moved to a new home at Yatahay Poker Network.   The changes went into effect immediately.

Some questions remain to be answered, so let's review a few cliff notes:

Q:  What happens to player funds?
A:  High ranking DoylesRoom officials have stated that the Yatahay Network has secured all player Bankrolls, meaning all money is safely out of Cake and playable on the new network.  Status:  Confirmed

Q: What about all the missed payments?
A:  Again, DoylesRoom officials have promised that all back payments (rakeback & rake race), will be honored once the transition is complete.  This seems to indicate payments should be forthcoming relatively soon.  Status:  Confirmed

Q: Can I log in and play immediately?
A:  Yes, at the time of this writing, 31 NLHE cash tables were running with blinds ranging from $0.05/$0.10 to $5/10.  Status:  Confirmed

Q: Will DoylesRoom still offer rakeback?
A:  Preliminary reports seem to indicate that DoylesRoom will stop offering rakeback to new players, but that players linked to existing affiliated accounts should be grandfathered and will continue receiving rakeback. Still further rumors indicate the rakeback percentage will drop from 33% to 27%, but at this point these reports are mere speculation.   Status:  Confirmed - update - all new players receiving 27% Rakeback.

Q: Will players from the United States still be allowed to play?
A:  Yes. The Yatahay Poker Network has made it clear that American players are welcome and accepted at the tablesStatus:  Confirmed

Although all of the reasons for the move are not yet clear, DoylesRoom stated, "The move to the Yatahay Poker Network marks the start of a new direction for DoylesRoom, one that will give the online poker site further control of its Destiny."  The meaning of those words remains unclear, but no doubt players waiting for the status of the room baring the name of the legendary Doyle Brunson can breathe a sigh of relief knowing operations seem to be returning to normal.
