The railbirds love the durrrr Challenge on Full Tilt Poker, so when Tom ‘durrrr’ Dwan and Daniel ‘Jungleman12’ Cates sat down at the virtual felt Monday night to resume their match, viewers were hoping for some fireworks.
But after ten minutes and 110 hands the session came to an abrupt end. This isn’t really much of a story in and of itself, but shortly afterwards both players sent out Tweets that left people wondering what really happened.
The Challenge is still on, but you have to wonder what it was that prompted Dwan to cut the session short after just ten minutes. Could it be that he managed to drop nearly $150K in just 110 hands? Or is he just plain sick of getting owned by Cates?
Only 17K of the 50K hands of the challenge have been played, which began last August. So far Cates is crushing Dwan with a lead of nearly $1 million.
Whatever the reason for the short session, it’s clear that Dwan has his work cut out for him if he wants to make up the gap or he’ll be out an extra $1.5 million on top of his losses during game play in the durrrr Challenge.
