It took less than one day for the first reported incident involving a Full Tilt Poker Pro and a disgruntled player from the site to make news. While this isn’t a surprise given the events leading up to the 42nd World Series of Poker, the target certainly is.
By all accounts John Juanda is a mild mannered guy. He tends to stay pretty quiet and reserved at the tables and doesn’t get involved in trash talking against his opponents. Tuesday he found himself of the business end of an ass-chewing from British Pro James Bord in the hallway after winning his match against French player Alexander Bonnin.
According to Dr. Pauly at the Tao of Poker, Bord confronted Juanda and was overheard using the words “disgrace” and “fake”…not to mention “thieving prick”. While there’s no confirmation on exactly what incited the altercation, it’s a reasonable assumption that the tirade had to do with Full Tilt Poker’s inability to cash out its U.S. players in the wake of Black Friday.
Security intervened and order was restored after the men were separated, but it makes us wonder if we’ll be seeing any other incidents as the World Series of Poker progresses.
