|Tournament Type:||Multi-Table played as series of Sit & Go's
|Interesting Fact:||You have to win your table to advance to next round.|
Shootout tournaments at Full Tilt Poker are played exactly like Sit & Go’s. One noticeable exception is you have to win multiple tables to win the tournament.
It's all or nothing when you play shootout tournaments. You must win your table in order to advance. Tables are never re-balanced once the tournament begins. In a 9-handed shootout finishing 2nd is a as good as finishing 9th.
All Shooutout tournaments will be labeled with a purple S symbol in tournament lobby.
Full Tilt Poker offers two types of shootouts, heads-up and 9-handed. In heads-up shootouts you play bracket style. If you win, you advance, if you lose, you are out. In 9-handed shootouts you play down to a winner at each table. In double shootouts, you must win two tables to win the tournament. In triple shootouts, you must with three tables.
One thing to note, in 9-handed shootouts if you win your first table, you will have made the money. If you don’t win your first table you do not cash.
In order to advance in the tournament you have to win your table so sitting around just to make the top three isn’t an option. You need to mix it up early when the blinds are low. The name of the game in the first few levels is to try and hit big hands that are nicely hidden and trap your opponent for their entire stack. Then later, when the game gets short handed, you’ll need to refine your approach to take advantage of other players and steal chips where you can. Finally, finish off with a good aggressive heads-up strategy to win and move on.
