The gambling legend takes time out from his Montana vacation to connect with his Twitter followers on a lighter subject.

After the stress and exhaustion of this year's World Series of Poker in Las Vegas, gambling legend Doyle Brunson has decided to spend some time in Montana on a well-earned vacation. As he always does, Brunson has been passing along tidbits from his life to his 350,000 Twitter followers. He set an idyllic scene for the getaway when he wrote on August 25th, "There is a full moon coming up over the mountains shining down on 20 miles of a calm Flathead Lake in Montana. Breathtaking!"

Those who were happy for Brunson or even starting to get a little bit jealous might have been shocked when he revealed a few days later that a large bat colony had taken up residence in the trees just outside of his home. Hoping to quell any concerns, he went on to explain that the flock's presence is not a bad thing at all, as a single bat eats between two and six thousand insects every night.

He also made an effort to correct the commonly held belief that bats are blind. In spite of the well-known expression, "blind as a bat," most bats have very good eyesight. He presumably came up against some doubters on this last point, and he addressed them in a subsequent tweet: "All you critical genius "bat people", go google bats and find out they have good eyesight. The idea that they depend on "sonar" is false."

In addition to winning millions on the felt, authoring several well-respected poker tomes, and edcuating his fans on North American wildlife, Brunson runs his own online poker site, fittingly called DoylesRoom. DoylesRoom is allied with Cake Poker, one of the top networks for U.S. players.
