Red Deck Productions announced last week that ‘High Stakes Hold’em’ will be joining the multitude of television shows to hit the airwaves since the poker boom of the early 2000s.
The one-hour show will begin airing weekly to a nationwide audience sometime in June of 2011, although the network and exact air dates have not been revealed. Filming at the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa in Reno, Nevada in late March, the ‘High Stakes Hold’em’ will air 13 episodes during its first season, and another two episodes will be devoted to the final table of the main event at the 2011 Atlantis All In Poker Series in Reno.
Tom Schneider, 2007 World Series of Poker Player of the Year, and Eric Ulis, the founder and CEO of Red Deck Productions, will provide commentary for the action, which will feature some of the young guns of the poker world today battling in a high stakes cash game.
The cash game will have a $25,000 buy-in, and Ulis promises that the new series will be “edgy, aggressive, and very unique.”
This is the first film or television project of any kind for Red Deck Productions, which is based in Scottsdale, Arizona.
