A major hurdle has been cleared allowing a Las Vegas casino to possibly have an online presence outside of The United States.
The Nevada State Gaming Control Board has approved a partnership between Caesars Interactive (the online arm of the casino of the same name) and 888.com (a major player in the European online gaming market). This is a milestone for the companies, as it would be the first collaboration between a Nevada gambling entity with a foreign online gaming company.
The companies have been waiting for 16 months for the state regulators to approve the deal. With 888.com holding interests across the world in regards to online gaming, poker included, it appears that Caesars may have an avenue to market its World Series of Poker brand even further than agreements already in place for the Italy and France markets.
A final decision will be made on March 24th by the Nevada Gaming Commission regarding the proposed relationship.
