Internet poker in the United States may be in limbo right now, but Nevada wants to make sure it’s ready to roll with it once it becomes legalized and regulated.
On Wednesday, the Nevada Gaming Control Board posted a list of proposals on its website that deal with many of the details that need to be addressed if internet gaming is to eventually become legal.
The list of proposals deal with a number of issues such as technology approvals, record keeping and customer enrollment. There’s also a proposal for regulatory oversight of internal controls and a process for disciplinary action in the event of regulatory violations.
These proposals will be further reviewed as a part of a public regulatory workshop which will begin on September 26th.
Gaming Control Board Chairman Mark Lipparelli has stated that Nevada state gaming authorities have an interest in having these rules in place so the state will be ready to begin licensing entities for online intrastate gaming once legislation is passed.
