Team PokerStars Pro Jonathan Duhamel has had a wildly eventful few months. It began in late December when he was brutally attacked by robbers in his own home. The robbers got away with a large amount of cash, a Rolex Submariner watch, and his 2010 WSOP Main Event bracelet.
About a week later, Canadian police arrested four individuals who were suspected to have been connected to the incident - one of which was a former girlfriend of Duhamel. The missing Rolex watch was found on the wrist of one of the suspects.
Since learning about his ex-girlfriend, Duhamel's luck has completely reversed. In January he earned over $1.2 million in tournament cashes at the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure, including a 2nd place finish in the $25K High Roller event and a victory in a $5K NLHE event.
Duhamel's upswing continued this week, as his priceless WSOP bracelet has been recovered - at least partially. The bracelet was apparently swept up by a street sweeper in Montreal, and turned over to the police. The links are missing (presumably sold for their gold value), and someone attempted to remove the writing from the back (as shown below).
The bracelet will remain in the hands of the police for now, but once it is no longer evidence in the investigation of the robbery, it will finally be returned to its rightful owner.
