The World Series of Poker is nearing its halfway mark (make sure to qualify before it's too late!). Since our last update the following players have won bracelets:
• Event #19 - $1,500 NLHE - Cliff Goldkind for $559,514
• Event #20 - $5,000 Limit Hold'em - Benjamin Scholl for $206,760
• Event #21 - $1,000 NLHE - Michael Gathy for $440,829
• Event #22 - $2,500 2-7 Triple Draw - Randy Ohel for $145,247
In the first 3 of those events very few well-known players made deep runs. In Event #22, several top pros made the final few tables including Bryan Devonshire (13th), Barry Greenstein (12th), Josh Arieh (9th), Layne Flack (8th), Shawn Buchanan (6th), Farzad Bonyadi (4th) and David Baker (3rd).
Although no A-list players won bracelets over the last few days, the odds are fairly high that a top pro will win one over the next 24 hours.
In Event #23 ($3,000 NLHE 6-max), 18 players remain including Eugene Katchalov, Andrew Lichtenberger, Freddy Deeb, and Bertrand 'ElkY' Grospellier.
Event #24 ($5,000 Omaha Hi/Lo) is currently down to 27 players, and the top ten spots are flooded with top names. Phil Ivey is the current chip leader with 446,500 chips - a significant lead even over Dan Kelly's 297,000 in second place. In addition to those two, Mike Matusow is in 3rd place, Brian Hastings is in 6th, and Scotty Nguyen is in 8th.
If you're interested in watching the final table of either of these events, a live stream will be available via the WSOP's website. If not, you can be sure to find out the results here at Rakeback.com.
