Rakeback.com collated data from previous and existing rake races run on its member sites, in order to analyse just how much value they offer.
Rake races work by assigning leaderboard positions to the players that pay the most rake or earn the most VIP points over a set period of weeks or months.
Players earn race points by grinding their normal cash games, Sit & Gos or multi-table tournaments, but the prize payouts are an incentive to put in extra volume. The cash prizes are of course equivalent to earning additional rakeback over the duration of the race.
Rake races are a favorite promotion type of high stakes players who pay large amounts of rake, and rate to dominate the leaderboards. However many rake races also offer decent returns to recreational players.
