Leading up to the World Series of Poker Main Event final table, Rakeback.com will profile each of the “November 9” players. The tournament resumes November 8th at 8:30 pm EST. First place pays a staggering $7,680,021. Here is a look at Neil Blumenfield, who currently sits in 3rd chip position.
Neil Blumenfield is a 61 year old software executive who hails from San Francisco, California. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley.
He’s currently President and C.O.O. of Elastic Intelligence, Inc. However, he is no stranger to poker and is looking to become a full time pro.
Previously, Blumenfield was a regular on the Heartland Poker Tour, and even won the 1st Annual State of Nevada Poker Championship back in 2008. He also cashed in this year’s WSOP $1,000 Seniors Championship. He has lifetime tournament earnings of over $155K, but that will all change in November as members of the “November 9” are guaranteed at least $1,001,020.
This will be Blumenfield’s fourth WSOP cash, and by far the biggest moment of his poker career. If he’s patient, and can pick up a few hands, he'll have a shot at taking down the 2015 WSOP Main Event World Championship.
The final table resumes November 8th at 8:30 pm ET live on ESPN. Leading up to the final table, ESPN will also be airing weekly coverage of the 2015 WSOP Main Event Championship.
Next week we’ll meet, fourth in chips Pierre Neuville from Knokke-Heist, Belgium.
