Bellande Opts to Stay with Bodog
For today’s professional poker player, there aren’t many options out there for steady, reliable income. One of the most popular ways to achieve this is by signing on to be a spokesperson or sponsored player for one of the many online poker sites. The sponsorships can be lucrative for
professionals by paying the players buy in at tournaments as well as possibly offering to offset the variances that are so common in poker. The sponsorship can be difficult to come by though and the pro must stay active to keep the sponsor happy. One such renewal deal was announced earlier this week between a top pro and an online poker room though the exact details were not released.
Jean Robert Bellande who is having a successful year, recently renewed his exclusive sponsorship with Bodog, just one of the sites that caters to the US market. As part of the Bodog team, he participates regularly in online action and along with his fellow teammates, David Williams, Evelyn Ng and Justin Bonomo, plays in many tournaments around the world representing the online poker site. Bellande was also a contestant on CBS‘s Survivor:China in 2007.
In a press release from his management company, Poker Royalty, it was pointed out the likely reasons for Bellande’s continued sponsorship by Bodog. “Jean-Robert is a player with so much charisma and personality that he is a perfect fit for Team Bodog. This was about the right brand fit, and Jean-Robert obviously embodies the Bodog lifestyle,” said James Sullivan, President of Poker Royalty. Bellande was also enthusiastic about the renewal when he stated, “I am thrilled to continue my relationship with Team Bodog. The company is a fantastic organization and I am excited to continue with such a select team of world-class poker players.”
