High Stakes Poker Season 7 To Shoot in November
By Scott Carlson, Rakeback.com Staff Writer
In an interview for the PartyPoker channel on Poker Tube on August 20th, High Stakes Poker hostess Kara Scott indicated that the new season is slated to be filmed in November. The first six seasons of High States Poker have proven to be must see television. GSN announced that ratings for season six were 25% higher than season five.
The hosts for season seven have not been announced but since Kara Scott made the comment regarding the filming dates it is assumed that she will return. Highly likely to return for a seventh season at the mic is Gabe Kaplan. It remains to be seen if AJ Benza will be asked back for another season after being excluded from the sixth season. Other rumors and wild speculation swirl if yet another dark horse announcer could be named. Could we see Mike the Mouth behind the commentators desk this fall?
News as to who will be participating in the new season has not been released. Some regulars certain to return are Daniel Negreanu and Antonio Esfandiari, two of less than a handful of players to appear on each of the first six seasons. According to several online poker forums Negreanu has lost over $2 million over the first six seasons. Another regular we are certain to see is Tom “Durrrr” Dwan who has won approximately $1.7 million on the show. Speculation is starting to swirl over some of the new faces who will be asked to play in season seven. One likely candidate would be Scott Seiver who performed well on the recently aired PokerStars Big Game episodes.
