Pot-Limit Omaha is Coming to Poker After Dark

A recent blog post from online poker superstar and current CardRunners coach Brian “$tinger” Hastings has confirmed what many fans have spent years hoping for: Pot-Limit Omaha is coming to Poker After Dark.
Poker After Dark is a popular one-hour television program which airs six days a week on NBC and is currently in its 6th season. The show’s format pits 6 veteran cardplayers against each other, either in a winner-take-all tournament or as a cash game. No-Limit Holdem has been the only game spread on the show–but according to $tinger, that will soon change. He recently flew to the West coast to play in a $300/$600 PLO game for the cameras. Although the game and the filming are both wrapped up, but the players are required to maintain silence as to the results until the show airs.
Brian Hastings is a beast at the poker table, with nearly $6,000,000 in winnings under his eponymous account at FTP. Though he’s no slouch at NLHE, the majority of his profit is from shorthanded or heads-up PLO games, including a legendary session in which he took over $3,000,000 from the mysterious Isildur1.
Despite his impressive qualifications, Hastings could hardly be considered an obvious favorite; tapped to appear on the upcoming PLO episodes of Poker After Dark are his regular online foes Tom “durrrr” Dwan and Phil “OMGClayAiken” Galfond–as well as what many people consider to be the best poker player alive today, Phil Ivey.
The PLO episodes of Poker After Dark are slated to appear sometime in early 2011.
