World Series of Poker Circuit to Stop in Florida?

In a post on the popular Two Plus Two Poker Forums, the World Series of Poker Circuit (WSOP-C) Tournament Director Jimmy Sommerfeld might have let the cat out of the bag in advance of a formal press release. His comments were the following:
“I think that a Circuit event in Durant, Oklahoma at Choctaw Casino on January 6-25, then a Tournament at Palm Beach Kennel Club on February 17 – March 1 would be a great Idea. Maybe its not a rumor?!! I would gamble and book a room.”
The first part of that statement has come true. The second part of that statement, if true, could be the greatest thing for poker in the United States since Chris Moneymaker. The laws in Florida changed this summer lifting the limits on tournament buy-ins and cash games. Poker rooms throughout Florida have had a boom of activity that has yet to let up. Even some of the smaller rooms in the state have offered ongoing $5/$10 and $10/$20 no limit hold-em cash games. The competition has said to be less that spectacular.
The Palm Beach Kennel Club located in West Palm Beach boasts a 60 table poker room which would be a perfect size for a WSOP-C event. The time frame mentioned in Sommerfeld’s post is the only current opening on the WCOP-C schedule.
There would be no better way to spend a winter vacation in Florida!
