Caesars Entertainment, Caesars Interactive Entertainment and Barriere Poker have announced the 2011 WSOP Europe will take place at the Casino Barrière de Cannes Croisette October 7-21. A total of seven WSOP bracelets will be handed out, an increase over the five bracelets awarded in 2010. The series will be re-branded as the World Series of Poker Europe Presented by BarierePoker.fr.
The move comes just days after a partnership was announced between Caesars Interactive Entertainment and Barriere Poker to provide online poker to French players.
The move to Cannes doubles the number of tables available for the 2011 WSOP Europe to 75 when compared to 2010. Bigger fields will increase the prizepools for 2011. Players will no longer have to pay and arm and a leg for accommodations and food when compared to London.
The new partnership also creates the latest tour on the circuit, The Barriere Poker Tour, which begins in April. The tour will make seven stops across France before culminating with the WSOP Europe in Cannes in October.
The schedule of bracelet events for the 2011 WSOP Europe will be announced in the Spring.
