WSOP Circuit Events Expansion

One thing is certain – the WSOP Main event in Las Vegas has always been more popular than its cousin, the WSOP circuit.  WSOP vice-president Ty Stewart recognized this saying, “…the WSOP Circuit Events needed a shot in the arm, and we’ve responded with steroids.”

The response will be to increase the size and scope of the 2010 circuit.  The current schedule includes a minimum of 12 stops, and others may be added.  In addition, player rankings will be implemented culminating with a National Championship for 100 players who qualify by accumulating points along the tour.

WSOP has also announced a standardized pay out and blind structure for all of the events.  Finally, some events will carry a lower buy-in which should attract more players to the field.

The 2010-11 Circuit will start August 19th, 2010 at the Horseshoe Council Bluffs in Iowa.  Other stops on the Circuit include: Southern Indiana, Chicago, Mississippi, Lake Tahoe, Atlantic City, Tunica, San Diego, St. Louis, Las Vegas and New Orleans.

The full schedule may be found here.
