You’re on Facebook, and you’ve seen the requests…”Help me water my crops…”, “Click here to accept your seed gift…”
Zynga has been the driving force behind some of the most popular games on FaceBook these days, and now there’s a real-world reason to play poker on Facebook.
Zynga will be hosting its first annual poker players convention, PokerCon , in where else…Las Vegas. What does this mean for you, the average internet poker player? It means that if you’re not playing poker on Zynga’s network, you’re not invited.
PokerCon will take place March 18-19 at The Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, and is open to anyone who registers on FaceBook via the Zynga Poker Application. The roster for the event is quite impressive, with Annie Duke, Scotty Nguyen, Antonio Esfandiari, and Doyle Brunson scheduled to appear.
The highlight of PokerCon is the $100K tournament, available to all registrants for a minimum of $125. Zynga is offering packages with higher prices that include hotel rooms and other bonuses.
The minimum package, priced at $125, includes a seat in the tournament as well as opportunities to attend Zynga Poker School, panel discussions, and a special ‘Ante Up’ VIP Bash.
With regulated online gaming on the federal level moving at a snail’s pace, and states making their moves, it will be interesting to see where Zynga’s network of nearly 37 million players will end up when it’s all said and done.
