Aussie Millions Sparks Huge Cash Games
By Matt Kaufman, Rakeback.com Poker News Editor
The Aussie Millions is an 18-day poker festival held annually at the Crown Casino in Melbourne, Australia. Tons of tournaments are scheduled to take place, and it usually lures many top poker pros down under to get a piece of the action.
There isn’t yet any significant tournament news considering the events just started, but Tony G’s Twitter account revealed the type of action that has been going on. First, he mentioned a high-stakes PLO game in which Patrik Antonius was apparently consuming his weight in Fiji water:
The players in that game must have gotten bored with buying in for $40,000+ at a time, so logically it was time to increase the stakes:
At those stakes, a 100 big-blind stack would be worth $200,000. Patrik is certainly enjoying the game, but it’s easy to imagine his opponents not quite having the same experience.
Rakeback.com will continue to follow both the tournaments and cash games that take place at the Aussie Millions over the next few weeks, and good luck to any of you that are participating!
