Aussie Millions Starts Today

The $250k Super High Roller in 2013 found 18 players prepared to pay the entry fee – more are expected this year. The event should provide a good work up preparation for the 2014 WSOP Big One for One Drop, the charity event created by billionaire Guy Laliberte. The buy in for that event is $1 million.Aussie Millions 2014

Phil Ivey, Antonio Esfandiari, Gus Hansen, Daniel Negreanu and Patrik Antonius will all be in attendance at the Crown Casino in Melbourne, as will Sam Trickett, the young British player who won last year’s Super High Roller. That win put 27 year old Trickett into second place on the tournament winnings leader board, with almost $20m in lifetime earnings.

Trickett started as an internet player and rapidly stared playing high stakes cash games. He is now a regular in the super high stakes games in Macau.

For the first time, this year the Aussie Millions Main Event, will form part of the PokerStars Asia Pacific Poker Tour. PokerStars Team Pro’s, headed by Daniel Negreanu will be out in force.

The Aussie Millions runs until February 10
