Bellagio to host final World Poker Tour Event of 2008

Players can bring their leftover turkey from Thanksgiving as a brown bag lunch for the first event of the Doyle Brunson Five Diamond Poker Classic, kicking off the day after Thanksgiving, November 28th. The three week event will feature an all Texas Hold’em line up with buy-ins ranging from $500 to $15,000. Satellites begin this week for as little as $100.00 to qualify for various events. $1,000 Super Satellites run daily for the Main Event and will certainly send the bulk of players to the Main Event versus those that buy in directly.

Named for poker legend Doyle Brunson, the World Poker Tour sponsored event always attracts the games brightest and best. The Card Player.com Player of the Year (POY) contest is often determined by which POY front-runner goes deepest in this event. This year it’s John Phan riding in atop the leader board but he does have competition right on his heels. Because each event carries POY point implications, many of these players enter every event so even if your bankroll isn’t up to par, you may be able to enter a low priced event and still play with the big boys and girls.
