BREAKING NEWS – Full Tilt and PokerStars Getting Their Domain Names Back

The DOJ issued a press release indicating that PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker will receive their domain names back in order to facilitate refunds for U.S. players. The domain names of 4 online poker rooms were seized by FBI on Friday April 15th.

The website Poker Player is also reporting that Full Tilt has reached an agreement which matches the DOJ release.

As this is an ongoing story details should be forthcoming througout the day. This story will be updated as we go along.

UPDATE: 4/21/11 12:57 ET – PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker have had their domain names reinstated.

Full Tilt Poker

U.S players that go to the Full Tilt Poker website will see the following notice:

“Full Tilt Poker has always maintained the highest levels of integrity and compliance with the law. Due to recent events Full Tilt Poker is unable to accept ‘Real Money’ play from customers located in the United States. However, please know that your funds are safe and secure we are working to resolve the distribution of these funds.”

No timeframe for refunding players money has been noted as of yet.


U.S players that go to the website will see the following notice:

“On 15 April 2010, PokerStars ceased providing real-money poker to residents of the United States and related territories. Real money play and deposits by US residents are strictly prohibited.”

“An agreement has been reached with the US Department of Justice to allow United States PokerStars customers to cashout their funds. PokerStars will work diligently to expedite those withdrawals. All PokerStars player deposits are completely safe.”

PokerStars also has a FAQ posted for U.S players which can be viewed here.

In the FAQ section PokerStars indicates that “Cashouts for US residents are expected to be available within several weeks.”

The U.S. players FAQ section is a must read for all players with cash, tournament dollars, tournament tickets and frequent player points on PokerStars.

UB / Absolute Poker

UB and Absolute Poker have now ceased real money play for U.S. Players. The agreements made by PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker is also available for UB/AP but nothing has been released as of yet.
