New Record Set at Full Tilt’s High Stakes Tables
News has been spreading like wild fire across the poker community of a new record being in chip stacks being set this week. Phil “OMGClayAiken” Galfond had major success over the weekend in the 6 max games on Full Tilt Poker. At one point during the incredible weekend session, Galfond had a stack of $1.5 million at a $500/$1000 no limit hold’em 6 max table. It is believed that the $1.5 million chip stack is the largest stack at a single table in online poker history.
Despite going through a couple of big hit reversals, Galfond managed to leave the table with $1,266,264 which also happens to be a new record. During the record setting action, Galfond won 3 separate pots each valued at well over $400,000.
Another risk taking player who has seen some exciting action over the past few days has been Tom “durrr” Dwan. While playing at a no limit hold’em $500/$1000 table on December 5th, Dwan managed to turn an extremely impressive profit of $955,000 while dominating all his opponents which included the likes of Phil Ivey and Gus Hansen. Dwan was at the tables again the next day, December 6th, pushing his 24 hour winnings far past a million dollars when he won his largest hand ever of $657,000.
The players on the flip side of the fortune coin included player Ilari “Ziigmund” Sahamies who suffered a $1.4 million loss in a no limit hold’em game on December 7th when his recent successful run came to a very abrupt and expensive end. Also suffering a massive hit was player “Elmariachimacho” who took a serious $750,000 hit too. The losers lined the pockets of the successful players OMGClayAiken (+$613,000), Dwan (+$501,000) and Urindanger (+$409,000).
