Online Cash Games Return to Italy

Online poker has been gaining in popularity over the last couple of years in Italy. That trend looks to continue as online cash games were finally reintroduced to the country Monday.
In 2009 Italy enacted a set of extremely restrictive online gambling regulations that made provisions to allow players to compete in online poker tournaments, but left cash games entirely out the picture. As a result Italian players found themselves unable to play online cash games.
After much discussion over the past year regarding changes to how online cash games would be taxed by the government, PokerStars, the OnGame Network (including Betsson and RedKings), and the IPoker Network (including William Hill Poker and Titan Poker) finally rolled out cash games on their “dot.it” domains on Monday.
The cash games will be offered on a limited basis throughout the first week, and beginning on Friday, July 22nd they will be up and running 24/7.
