Online Poker Domain Name Changes
By Ian Hiaring, Rakeback.com Poker News Staff Writer
As a result of the latest round of indictments and domain name seizures, several online poker rooms have changed their addresses to point towards new domain names.
It appears that Bookmaker.com, Truepoker.com, and Doylesroom.com are all pointing to .ag domain names now. The .ag domain is the top level domain for the Caribbean country of Antigua and Barbuda.
Last month PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker made similar moves when their .com domain names were seized by the U.S. Department of Justice. PokerStars moved over to a .eu domain, while Full Tilt Poker moved to a .co.uk domain. Eventually the U.S. DOJ released the .com domains in order to better facilitate payments for U.S. players wishing to cash out their unusable funds.
Here’s a quick rundown of the new urls.
- doylesroom.com -> doylesroom.ag
- bookmaker.com -> bmaker.ag
- truepoker.com -> truepoker.ag
In addition to these indictment-induced domain changes, Bodog.com has shifted their site to Bodog.eu. While Bodog hasn’t been named in any indictments to date, the move seems to be in anticipation of a potential indictment and domain name seizure.
