Jose Mendendez, a State Legislator from Texas, has introduced a 40-page bill attempting to legalize the game of poker in the state. Believe it or not, the birthplace of “Texas Hold’em” does not currently allow legal poker games anywhere within the state lines.

The three week long final World Poker Tour Event of 2008 will feature an all Texas Hold’em line up with buy-ins ranging from $500 to $15,000. Satellites begin this week for as little as $100.00 to qualify for various events.
