PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker Issue Statements on Black Friday

By Ian Hiaring, Rakeback.com Poker News Staff Writer

In the wake of the indictments handed out Friday morning to key executives for Full Tilt Poker and PokerStars, it’s no surprise that both companies have cut off players in the United States from playing for real money.

PokerStars turned the switch off within minutes of the news, and Full Tilt Poker did the same a few hours later.

Both companies issued software updates, and presented players with information via pop-up messages when logging in.

Rather than quote the pop-ups, we’ll just show you exactly what they looked like. Of course if you’re a regular player on either site, you’ve already seen them.

Full Tilt Black Out Notice

Full Tilt Poker’s dot com site now points to the dot net site, which exists for players who only play for free, with no real money involved.

Early reports stated that the PokerStars dot com site was pointing at their site aimed towards European players. But it now appears to be redirecting to a more generic version of the original site, with no mention of dot com on it.

PokerStars U.S. Black Out Notice

Both Absolute Poker and Ultimate Bet’s sites have been replaced with a message stating that the domain name has been seized by the FBI, and gives some pretty official looking language as to the reasons behind the seizure.

Stay tuned and the RakeBack.com News Team will keep you informed with all the news and fallout from Black Friday.
