Prahlad Friedman wins WPT Legends of Poker
This years WPT Legends of Poker was won by a forgotten man, Prahlad Friedman. Friedman who hadn’t had a notable result since his 12th place finish in the 2006 WSOP Main Event, where he picked up $494,797. Friedman who beat WSOP November Nine finalist Kevin Schaffel heads up at Bell Gardens Bicycle Casino in California, to claim top prize of $1,034,000.

When it finally went to the last two Schaffel had a moderate chip lead over Friedman. However, after Friedman slowly absorbed more and more chips from Schaffel, it finally came to a conclusion when Prahlad Friedman’s A-Q held against Kevin Schaffel’s K-J. With the WSOP Main Event due to resume in November, Schaffel will be happy to know he has an extra $471,670 for his second place finish to add to the large sum he is already guaranteed from the WSOP.
WPT Legends of Poker
The 2009 World Poker Tour, Legends of Poker, which was held at the Bicycle Casino in Los Angeles, seem to have something missing this year. About 100 poker players. This years WPT, Legends of Poker only attracted 279 runners compared to last years 373 runners. That marked a massive 25% decrease in runners this year compared to last year.
