Sam Trickett finished 2012 in 2nd place on the annual tournament earnings list behind Antonio Esfandiari.

Roughly 1 month into 2013, the British poker pro can add another $2 million AUD to his lifetime earnings for winning the $250,000 buy-in Super High Roller event at the Aussie Millions. He’s now not only 2nd behind Esfandiari for 2012 earnings – he’s moved up to 2nd behind Esfandiari in terms of all-time earnings.

Before this week, Trickett sat in 4th place on the list, but his new score allows him to hurdle 2 of the most legendary players ever – Phil Ivey (now 4th) and Phil Hellmuth (now 3rd).

Trickett’s accomplishment is even more amazing due do his age. At just 26 years old, he’s the youngest player in the all-time top 10 by about 6 years (Michael Mizrachi is 8th on the list and 32 years old).

To win the Super High Roller this week, Trickett trimphed over a field which included Gus Hansen, Jason Mercier, Antonio Esfandiari, and Erik Seidel. He defeated German superstar Tobias Reinkemeier heads-up.

Trickett’s total lifetime earnings now exceed $19 million, and that doesn’t even include the money he’s won playing online or in live cash games!
