There is a big $300k guaranteed Main Event and enough medium buy in tournaments to keep the grinders happy, but the focus of PartyPoker has now switched to meeting the needs of lower stake recreational players. Apart from the main event, all the tournaments have buy-ins at $55 or less.
No Limit Hold’em, Pot Limit Omaha, PLO8, Limit Hold’em, Seven Card Stud are all represented, with many of the No Limit Hold’em events represented in variations of Turbo, 6 max, Bounty or rebuy formats.
There are three new missions available to accompany the series. PartyPoker missions are a fun way to pick up some extra bonuses while playing. For Pokerfest 2014, the missions come in Easy, Regular and Hard varieties, offering $5, $10 and $20 tournament dollar bonuses respectively.
The Regular Mission requires players to play 5 Pokerfest events or qualifiers, knock out 50 players in MTTs or Sit & Gos, play 2 MTTs or Sit & Gos a day for five days, and earn 50 PartyPoker Points while playing. The Easy and Hard versions increase or reduce the numbers for each objective, but are otherwise the same. Players have to opt in to a mission to qualify for the bonus.
On March 16, there will be a $5 buy-in Mega Satellite with 200 seats guaranteed for the $215 buy-in Main Event which will be held on the same day. The early events kick off from March 2.
