Partypoker is putting on a massive poker festival spread out over the next 12 months. The Grand Prix consists of 12 events held at sports stadiums throughout the UK. The first three live tournaments carry a guarantee of £250,000 each, and cost just £60+£10 to enter.
The high guarantee and the low buy-in mean that the company expects to attract over 4,000 players for each event. The events will be managed by the Dusk Till Dawn casino which has become the focus for live poker in the UK.
The first event takes place at the Dusk Till dawn casino in Nottingham on October 17 & 18. Thereafter the events move to the stadiums, including Manchester United’s Old Trafford, Leeds United’s Elland Road, and Hampden Park in Glasgow.
Each event will have several Day 1s, and if players bust at their first attempt, they can sign up for another Day 1 before the live event begins. Some of the Day 1s will be played online. Accompanying the live events will be four online events.
Dusk Till Dawn is also be hosting the £2.5 Million GTD partypoker 2015 WPT UK Festival. The 16 day extravaganza begins on November 2, but there will be online Day 1s to the WPT500 at partypoker, and live Day1s beginning at Aspers Casino in London on October 26. Live Day 1s at the Dusk Till dawn casino will run from October 31.
The WPT500 guarantees a £1 million prize pool, and costs £500+£50 to enter. There are plenty of online satellites at low buy-ins for partypoker players who want to take a punt on winning their way in to the event.
The highlight of the festival is likely to be the £2,200 buy-in £1 million guaranteed WPT UK Main Event which begins on November 3.
Players who enter on Day 1a and bust out can re-enter on Day 1b. But players who lose all their chips on Day 1b, cannot re-enter. The final table will play down to a winner on November 8.
Players who want to brush up their tournament strategy in preparation for the live events need look no further than the partypoker PokerFest which kicks off online on September 27.
There are 80 events in total, covering all buy-in levels, with $2.5 million in guaranteed prize money.
On Sunday, October 11, the PokerFest will climax with the Main Event, a $250 buy-in tournament with $300,000 GTD.
