The venue was the Aspers Casino close to London’s Olympic Stadium, and the tournament ran over November 9th and 10th. At the end of the two days, Jonathan Roux emerged victorious, taking the $22k first prize. Roux is Swiss, but now lives in London, taking advantage of the zero percent income taxes on poker winnings.
All the PKR Team Pros took part in the event, but their professional skills proved inadequate to making the big bucks. Only WSOPE bracelet winner Scott Shelley made the money, with a 12th place finish.
PKR proved to be great hosts, with free drinks and Sit and Go tournaments organized for players who bust out. The tournament buy in was set low at $500, so many players were able to qualify or buy in directly from the PKR site.
