Not related to the hand, use the classic strategy of starting off really tight for the first few levels possibly trying to see cheap flops with small pocket pairs and soooted connectors in the hope of hitting sets/str8s and stacking someone early on. When the blinds starting getting big (does take a while on stars) basically then become a pushbot, no point fannying around with raises, just push, this is especially true around the bubble, if you walk into a big hand, so be it. But most people at that stage won't call you with anything less than large pocket pairs or AQ+.
If you are really serious about sngs, you should look into ICM (independent chip model) you can get tools to assist you in this and is basically a push/fold strategy. I think one of the best sites for info/tools on this is
The SitNGo Wizard - Home for the ICM calculator, another usefull site is
www.sngicons.com
Possibly using
SharkScope - The Largest Online Poker Tournament Results Database to get some feel of your opponents, I used to use the 5 free searches a day and put them on the notes of the players, but there are so many players on stars, I am not sure if this was any use.
So be patient at the start, don't be frightened to put your chips in first with any two cards at bubble time.
I am GothmanUK on stars, so sharkscope me if you want
And good luck at the tables.
