as far as percentages go i would not recommend more than 3% of bankroll even for single table stuff. If you are on a bad sng run, before you hit the cash tables i would recommend you move down to single table if you generally play mtts, shorthanded if you usually play single table, and if you are comfortable playing heads up - go and play heads up for a while. you will be in the money a lot more often and you will remember how to win from there.

Its tough going thru a bad run in multitable tournaments and can become difficult to tell if you are playing well or not. However if i play 10 games heads up and lose more than 5 i know almost for certain i am playing badly and should take a break.

My worst run seems to be coming to an end. i usually play razz on ft. nightlyy razz tourney with usually about 100 players. march to september last year i won the tourney at least 1 every month. i just recently managed my first top 3 position since september! six months good - six months bad - can happen in mtts no problem i learn the hard way. In the meantime i had to find other ways to grind out a few dollars.
