Folding KK is tricky sometimes. This is a leak in my game, I'll admit. Sometimes I can fold KK and sometimes I can't. It really depends. If you're getting 3 bet preflop then you might be able to dump KK. Can't say that I have but I've definitely dropped KK post flop and it doesn't take an Ace on the flop for me to fold KK (if you put the other guy on a set etc.).
Most players will sometimes just call with AA and then the flop comes and it's all low cards and you're getting stacked b/c the guy with AA doesn't know enough to pop your raise (and we wonder why so many people comlplain about getting their AA cracked when they don't play AA correctly).
The one thing I've learned (and believe me it's cost me a lot of money to learn this lesson) is that I don't fall in love with any type of hand AA included. So it really depends on the situation.
One thing I know for sure....a really good disciplined player can fold KK in any situation, especially with a lot of money on the line. |
