Well TNL, I think you are in pretty good hands there, Lady is a good player. I guess my suggestion is to take some time away from the tables to get your reading and understanding done, Super System (2), Theory of Poker, and for me Holdem for Advanced Players was a good third. (holdem for advanced players focuses more on limit cash games, the Harrington on Holdem are great Tourney books for the 3rd book+)
Next I suppose is just to keep talking to each other about hands, a different perspective is a great source of information. I think you two have quite a good deal there being friends and interested in poker, you could probably get very good in a much shorter amount of time.
Of course the board will always welcome your questions and ideas too, so dont forget us if you think of something interesting.
