The only way I can see you getting away from this hand is if you re-pop his preflop raise and of course he'll go all in.
That is why it is important to raise prior to the flop with a strong hand like JJ. If the bandit is going to re-pop you twice, then you have to know you're beat.
This is where you save money.
After the turn it's another story. Can you put him on KK? maybe. It seems like he knew you hit your set based on his river push and he maximized his hand to the fullest.
The way I see it, you misplayed the hand pre-flop.
After the flop when you hit your set it was just bad luck that you lost this hand.
But again if you had re-raised his raise pre-flop, and he comes over the top of you that's the time where you could've saved money. |
