I qualified for GOLD ironman in April. I had the choice of the freeroll or 70 medals.
$26 token costs 140 medals so that means 70 medals are worth $13. The $20,000 GOLD freeroll had only 447 players. $20,000 divided by 447 = $44.74 value. But then I lose 27%
rakeback on that or $12.07. So $44.74 - $12.07 = $32.67
So in summary it was almost $20. better value to play the freeroll even after rakeback ($32.67 -$13. = $19.67)
Of course this only works out if you are able to play the freeroll. Unfortunately I did not finish in the money in this one.
