I use sharkscope mainly to check my own stats. It's the easiest way for me to know how I have been running without actually recording all the sit and gos myself.
I also used it to wake up my step-brother. He was insisting he was a winning player but then when confronted with the nearly $2,000 in the red he was showing (just from sit and gos and he admits he's better with them than ring games), he had to accept that there was room to improve and tighten his game up.
