Default Bounty Tournaments Key

I've played bounty tournaments at Ultimate Bet several times. Usually the $4 + .40 which pays $1 for each player you knock out. The advantage is that if you knock out a few players along the way, you get part (or more) of your entry fee back even if you don't finish in-the-money. You feel more satisfied that it wasn't a total waste. BUT, the key is to play the tourney regularly as you normally would. Don't try to make calls against shorter stacked players just to get their bounty. When you and four others do it, you probably aren't gonna win. Play normal and the bountys will come to you. And yes, if you're short-stacked and finally go all in, one or more big stacked players will call since they have little chips to lose, and a bounty to gain. It's happened to me with a better starting hand several times. The way to avoid that it is to go all in earlier with a stack sufficient enough to make all players wary of losing so they fold. You may have to pick a more marginal hand to do it (like any A x, 10J, or even ducks) and hope others fold, or you get lucky. Once you get a stack back, play normal again.
