I'll show the difference between the Bad Beat story's you want to ban, and the one's that are actually fun to read.
The ones that are fun to read:
I have a regular Friday Night home game with a bunch of buddies. We are all good, but this is a social game, so there is a lot of drinking, smoking, etc. So I tend to be patiente, and know that they all play rags. Knowing this, I tend to raise about 7x BB when I enter the pot.
This home game is a $20 + ONE $20 re-buy, and ONE $10 add-on for 1k in chips. Each starting with 2k in chips, with blinds starting at 25/50, increasing every 20 minutes and a break/add-on period at 1hr in. They games usually have between 13-15 people, paying top 2-3 places depending on the prize pool (not my idea). This time, we started with 11 people.
It's pretty deep into it, blinds at 125/250, no ante ever. I didn't re-buy or add-on and I'm in second with around 10k out of 4 people, only beaten out by the biggest donk and biggest drunk at the table with 12k. A bunch of re-buy's and add-on's from everyone else. Me and someone else were the only ones not drinking or smoking. Everyone else was drunk off there minds, and blazed like there was no tomorrow.
I get dealt AA OTB. UTG folds, and I raise to 1,750. SB folds, and BB (chip leader) calls. At this point, I know he is defending his Big Blind, and will raise on the flop with anything. So I prepare for anything. The flop comes out 7 2 A rainbow, with the A in the window. He bets like I knew he would. The pot is now at 5625, and I have around 8k in chips. I decide to move in because no way am I going to be able to fold with top set. He calls and poudly turns over 7 2 (his favorite hand). I then say: 'Not this time donk.' and flip over my trips. the crowd (about 10 people) and everyone at the table is in Awww at the play and Ohhh's to the donk, making him feel bad about his call.
He then counts his chips and finds he has me covered by around 2k. we put the chips in the pot, and proceed to flip the turn, which was a 7. He claps his hands and raises his fists, thinking he has the best hand with a Full House over my Trips. Me and about 4 other people point out that I have a higher Full House. He then turns over and see's that I in fact do have a higher full house. He proceeds to look sad that he might lose.
His close friend then tells him something in his ear. He then gets a bright look in his eye, and all of a sudden is excited to see the river. I look at him with a fishy look, and he keeps yelling at me (because he's drunk) to turn over the river. I burn a card, and get a peak at the river and I can't believe my eyes. His one outer is right in my hands. I flip over his one outer in disgust as I look away from the table. The card reveals the last 7 in the deck for Quad 7's over my Full House. The whole room (even his friend) makes a group 'OHHHHH!!!!!!' and points to the card. The drunk donkey then jumps up and down and yells that he won the hand. He keeps repeating: 'In your face! Haha! Thats what you get sucker!'. I try not to take heart of this, as he always says that when he wins a hand when he's drunk, but how could you not take that to heart?
I was devastated. Then, to top it all off, he tried to shake my hand! I look at his hand, then look at him straight in the eye, and say: 'Whatever dude' and walk away. Everyone could feel my pain as I walk away from the table out on the bubble.
The one you want to ban:
I was playing a home game, and got dealt AA OTB. I raise, BB calls, flop comes 7 2 A. He bets, I go all-in, he calls and shows 7 2. Turn and river come 7 7 for quads to beat me.
See, there is a difference between which people want to read, and the ones people don't want to read.
I am a story writer (not published or anything, just for personal entertainment) and a poker player. The combination of the two can make me tell some incredible story's of my hands I have played before. I tend to find people like to read my story's like this over the one's say told by the regular poker player, just wanting to tell someone the cards that fell.
So it's not the Bad Beats per say, that you want to ban, it's the ones that you can't listen to that you want to ban. I know the difference between the two, and so do others. It's just, if people were to explain in detail what happened when the bad beat occured, it would be more entertaining to read instead of: 'I got dealt this, and him this. This happened, and it came runner runner to beat me'.
Bty, true story. 3rd paid like $60 or something like that, so yeah.
