Default Playing QQ

I was at the casino recently playing $1/2 NLHE (with real people for a change) and was dealt QQ. I raise to $12 (strd raise for that table) and had one caller in back of me. Flop (of course) comes: AAx. I bet about $10 because I don't think this guy has an ace. He calls. Humm. The turn is (of course): K. The only two cards I don't want to see. Now I'm not sure... I check the turn and he bets $10. I think for a bit because he could very well have a king (or slow playing an ace) trying to build the pot. It could also have just been a probing bet to see what I had. I reluctantly fold. (Mostly because if he had an ace or king, I'd look like a jacka*s betting with just queens. 'Wut, yous didn't see the aces and king out there?') But I dont know if I played that right.

How would you play that hand? (This guy was loose, playing a lot of hands, 3 of 5 or so, and losing money).
